About Puraai

Founded in 2018, Puraai is a brand that combines the creative energy of two young Italian designers. Driven by a constant search for something that would fully represent them, they found their inspiration during a trip to Japan. This journey led to a groundbreaking idea: a brand that brings sustainability and aesthetics together in unique products for the modern consumer.

Sustainability at the heart of Puraai

The origins of Puraai is in a small but significant discovery in Tokyo. After a day of discoveries about the latest trends in the city, the designers were drawn to a small detail on a recycled plastic bottle. The Japanese symbol ラ (ra), used to indicate recycled plastic, touched them deeply. This symbol represents a value that they both hold dear: the importance of recycling and the responsible use of materials.

Puraai was born from this intuition: a brand that works exclusively with recycled and sustainable materials. The name “Puraai” itself is an amalgamation of two Japanese words: “Pura”, which means plastic, and “ai”, which means love. The designers believe that plastic, when properly recycled and reused, can be an incredibly versatile material. It offers endless possibilities to create beautiful, practical and environmentally friendly products.
